The following Board and Founding members have been the backbone of this group, and without them, Al-Nisa would not exist today. They all put in their precious time and effort, taking into consideration this is all purely volunteer work.
Not to forget, that all the board and founding members are either working full time/part time, studying full-time and part time, have family responsibilities etc, yet they still take out time to make this group work.
A big thank you to each and everyone one of you. May Allah (SWT) reward you all for your good intentions and efforts. Ameen.
Shameem Rane – Founding member
Shameem Rane has been with Al-Nisa Youth Group Inc, since it first started in 2005. She is a prominent and active member in the community and acts as an advisor to the Al-Nisa Youth Group board members. She is an asset to Al-Nisa Youth Group Inc.
Susan Al-Maani – Founding member
Susan Al-Maani has been with Al-Nisa Youth Group Inc, and continues to play an active role as an advisor to Al-Nisa Youth Group board members. Susan is also the Manager of the recently launched project called Al-Hadarah, which means Islamic civilisation. It was launched at Eid Fest this year on the 20th of October 2007.
Mehnaaz Ahmed – Founding member
Mehnaaz Ahmed also has been with Al-Nisa since it began. She continues to be an asset to Al-Nisa Youth Group Inc, providing continuous support and feedback to the board.
Salam El-Merebi – Chairperson of the Advocacy group
Salam El-Merebi has been involved in many projects launched by Al-Nisa Youth Group. Salam was recently involved in the Hadarah project, showcasing her Islamic Art in the Al-Hadarah booklet. Shabnaaz Ahmed – Treasurer/Chairperson of Marketing subgroup
Shabnaaz Ahmed who is our in house graphic designer since the group was formed, has been a very valuable resource, as she has designed the logo, banner, pamplets and all related advertisements for Al-Nisa Youth Group Inc.
Salma Mousali – Member
Salma Mousali has been a part of Al-nisa since it first began and has contributed to all projects.
Currently, Salma is taking responsibility of the “Building Positive Relations between the Muslim Australian Communities and the Queensland Police Service (QPS) Senior Women” Project.
Aliyah Deen – President
Aliyah Deen recently became the President of Al-Nisa Youth Group Inc. She continues to effectively communicate with all the team and has become a prominent and well respected member of Al-Nisa Youth Group Inc.
Rokaya Rane – Founding Member
Rokaya Rane has been a valuable part of the organisation since the beginning and still continues to contribute her time. Rokaya was the first Secretary for Al-Nisa and did a fantastic job in organising all major events.
