Achievements
Record for 2005:
Planning and executing the Girls Day Out in September. The event was held at the Inala Police Citizens Youth Club and the day was a success featuring indoor games, dancing, food and other recreational activities. It was a great opportunity to network and get to know more young ladies form our community
AL-Nisa’ members held their first joint Iftar during Ramadan with the Islamic Female Association (IFA) at the Kuraby Community Hall which was attended by some 60 young ladies. They also supported the Islamic Women’s Association of Queensland (IWAQ) hold two Iftars during the holy month
As part of the Eid celebrations IWAQ and AL-Nisa’ held an Eid lunch at the Gold Coast Mosque attended by the Democrats Leader Senator Andrew Bartlett, representatives of the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, Gold Coast City Council, local Members of Parliament, Imam Emran and members of the Gold Coast mosque. It was a great networking opportunity and a good way to expose some of our ladies to activities aimed at promoting Islam to non Muslims in a friendly manner.
Al-Nisa members participated in Eid Fest in November and raised $700 for the Earthquake victims in Pakistan. They also won the Best Stall title
